The cemetery, the place where the dead are laid to rest, is often a place feared and dreaded, especially around Halloween time.
Vampire hunts were conducted in cemeteries during the middle ages. Graves with fingerholes along the edges, fresh footprints leading to it, disturbed dirt or steam emerging from the grave were all signs of a vampire’s presence. The grave was then dug up, the coffin opened, and the corpse disposed of in the proper way according to the current standards of vampire execution.
